Hostgator is my favorite web host because they have super advanced web hosting plans, scripts, and can move your site to more intensive faster servers when your site outgrows a smaller hosting plan. For most people you will never outgrow their cheapest plan. I recommend placing your biggest money making site with this host.
If you want to do it the cheap way but still effective you can sign up for a free blog on www.wordpress.com and www.blogger.com
You will have more leverage and get better results by hosting your own domain and sites using paid hosts but if you are in a crunch the free stuff still works pretty darn good.
I still recommend signing up for at-least one paid web host so you have more control over your domain name and website performance. You should put your main money making site on your paid hosting account.
