When choosing a web hosting company you want to pay attention to advanced features like automatic daily backups, a cpanel console, and even the option to have multiple static ip addresses.
An even more important aspect of advanced hosting is the ability to upgrade to a higher end package if your website becomes popular enough to need it.
An advanced hosting account will allow you to upgrade to a server with more CPU power and speed as well as more bandwidth.
Unfortunately some web hosts are one size fits all hosts and are great if you don’t have big ambitions for your websites that are on these hosts.
A one size fits all web host can be very affordable because you will never need to pay more than around $5 – $6 a month for hosting your unlimited websites.
However, if one of these websites grows to large and has too many files you will have to move it off of their server.
I had this issue when one of my websites became to large for bluehost.com which is a great host but fits in the one size fits all category.
They allow unlimited websites until you simply outgrow them do to too many files.
I moved my account over to hostgator.com and have been happy ever since. Hostgator.com has several different hosting packages from the very cheap to highly sophisticated multiple class C ip address accounts.
If I had any ambitions at all for my website I recommend starting off with hostgator.com and using bluehost.com for smaller sites.
